Just as Sizzler started small, as a single restaurant in Culver City 50 years ago, so did many of our employees. They started at entry levels and worked their way up to highly successful and significant careers in the Sizzler organization.

Alfonso Messina

Why Sizzler? This is a company that you can grow as a career. I started as a dishwasher and a worked myself into management.

Biggest achievement: taking over a district that was not doing so well (losing money) and turning it around to a profitable one by creating a team with a mentality of leaders not followers.

Inspiration: What keep me moving is the concept that we are right in the middle of fast-food and casual dining, meaning that we can get people from all areas, and the food is great for the right price!

Advice: This is a place where you can build a career and be successful if you put your mind to it. This is done by being willing to adapt to changes and taking the ball and running with it! The sky is the limit, it is totally up to you how far you are willing to go!


Leila Flores

I always felt so welcome to grow in the company that I could not pass up the chance of keeping myself away from those opportunities that I have been given. It is exciting to get into this field and share my dedication and knowledge to others that need that kind of liaison within the company.

I know it is going to be hard work but not impossible. The key is to enjoy and have fun.

Leila was hired as Restaurant Manager, last year, she is bilingual Spanish/English, holds a BS degree in hospitality and last month was promoted to the Quality Assurance Manager at Corporate Office.

“My Biggest Achievement at Sizzler USA”

I began my career at Sizzler as a dishwasher back in 1978 right out of High School.

Sizzler gave me the opportunity to not only have a job but to have a career. Shortly after starting I was able to advance through the employee ranks and eventually become an assistant manager.

Once on the management team with Sizzler my life changed as Sizzler continued to give the opportunities to grow as a professional. By 1990 my career with Sizzler became a dream come true, I was promoted into multi-unit management and I began a great run of promotions and transfers which took me from the San Francisco Bay Area to Chicago, Toronto, Atlanta and then on to Sydney Australia and Brisbane Australia and then finally back to LA.

I would have to say that Sizzler is the best employer because Sizzler gives you the opportunity to grow from a dishwasher to a Director all through staying disciplined at working hard to achieve personal goals.

The best advice I could give anyone is to never give up working hard and chasing your dreams!
